Really straightforward, hot cocoa as the name lets you know, is a light, meager hot refreshment produced using cocoa powder, sugar and milk. - 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar free crystal sweetner - erythritol, Monk fruit or pinch of pure stevia powder
- 1 1/2 tablespoon sugar free chocolate chips (20g, 0.7 oz) or 90% chocolate
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon - optionnal
- SERVING SUGGESTIONS
- 1 teaspoon cocoa nibs or sugar free shaved chocolate
- 1 tablespoon whipped coconut cream or heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- In a small saucepan, under medium heat, simmer unsweetened almond milk for 1-2 minutes.
- When the milk is hot, remove from heat, whisk in cocoa powder, sugar free sweetener, chocolate chips and cinnamon if used.
- Serve immediately with whipped coconut cream or heavy cream on top and shaved chocolate (or cocoa nibs).
- Sugar free chocolate bars/chips can be replace by 85%/90% cocoa dark chocolate, both are keto friendly.
- Microwave option: you can warm the almond milk for 1 minute in the microwave, then stir in all the rest of the ingredient, rewarm 45 seconds, stir and enjoy !
