I use mayonnaise rather than spread when I make flame broiled cheddar, so I do a similar thing when I make barbecued nutty spread. You simply include a slender layer of mayo to the exterior of the bread, and you spread the inner parts with nutty spread and banana cuts. Flame broil it up, and that is it. Simple peasy, right?!
Speedy and simple sandwich loaded down with nutty spread and banana cuts and flame broiled until warm and brilliant dark colored
- 4 slices thick white bread
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 4 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
- 1 banana, cut into thin slices
- Smooth thin layer of mayo on one side of each slice of bread
- Spread peanut butter on insides of bread
- Add banana slices over peanut butter
- Place 2 slices of bread, mayo sides down and peanut butter sides up, on griddle and top with remaining 2 slices of bread, peanut butter sides down
- Cook over medium high heat for about 2 minutes, or golden brown, then flip and cook for additional 2 minutes per side, or until both sides are golden brown and peanut butter is warm
